Ceramic Painting
Join us for a relaxed paint-your-own pottery experience at Java Café — available during all operating hours, with bookings or walk-ins welcome.
Simply pop into our shop and choose your item to paint.
The shelf price includes everything: the pottery item, paints, tools, and kiln firing.
After choosing your piece, select your painting tools, then check out at the till, leave your contact details, and complete payment.
You can then head into Java Café and paint at any table of your choice.
We’ll set up your spot with paper, a turntable, and a water cup — everything you need to get started.
While painting, feel free to order food or drinks from Java Café and enjoy a creative, relaxing outing.
When you’re finished, simply return your painted items to the shop.
We’ll glaze and fire them in our kiln and notify you when they’re ready for collection.
Please allow up to 21 days for completion.

Time: There are two timeslots available

How does it work:
- Each child will receive enough clay to create 4 fridge magnets during the session.
- We’ll have lots of fun themed stencils and shapes available to help guide their creations - from dinosaurs and farm themes to cute characters and more.
- Once their magnets are shaped, children will paint their items on the day.
- After the event, we’ll carefully take all creations to our workshop for drying, finishing, and firing.
- We’ll then notify you as soon as your child’s magnets are ready for collection.

Where do I get the unique reference code to label my pottery item with?
Upon payment, you will receive a slip with the reference code. This slip will also be used to pick up your item after firing.
When can I pick up my finished pottery item?
Immediately after receiving an email that your item is ready for collection. This can take up to 21 days after painting.
Do you offer delivery services for finished pottery items?
Yes, we offer delivery services for added convenience. You can arrange for your masterpiece to be delivered to your doorstep for an additional fee.
What happens when my item is damaged during firing?
We give you a voucher to the value of the original amount.
